About shareable CPD packages

Instead of buying your CPD little-by-little, you can purchase a discounted block of CPD hours which you can use throughout the practice year. Our CPD packages are great value and all of them can be shared among colleagues.

When purchasing one of our packages, you will receive a bank of hours you can use to book any of our conferences, seminars or webinars, as well as our extensive library of on-demand CPD. Please note that our CPD packages do not include trainee CPD, certification, regulatory courses and essential skills and careers courses.

Throughout the year we continually add new training to our catalogue of available CPD, so whether you work in a legal practice, in-house or as a sole practitioner, you’ll have plenty of relevant and interesting options to choose from.

How to use your CPD package
  1. Purchase the package of your choice.
  2. Email cpd@lawscot.org.uk whenever you see any training you, or one of your colleagues, would like to attend. We will make the booking and keep a record of the number of hours remaining in your bank.
  3. Your CPD package will only be valid for the current practice year, so please make sure that you use your hours between 1 November 2023 and 31 October 2024. We will not be able to carry any remaining hours over to the following practice year.

 

    1. Is all Law Society of Scotland CPD training available to book with package hours?

      No, CPD packages do not include trainee CPD, certification, regulatory courses and essential skills and careers courses. They do include our conferences, seminars, webinars and library of on-demand CPD.

    2. Can I use package hours to book in-person training?

      Yes, packages can be used to book in-person training. For example, our Annual Conference is available to book with hours from your package.

    3. Can I use package hours to book on-demand CPD?

      Yes, you can book any training from our on-demand library using package hours.

    4. Can I carry hours over to the next year?

      No, all CPD hours have to be used by 31 October.

    5. How do I use my hours to book training for a colleague?

      Email us a CPD@lawscot.org.uk with the colleague's full name and email address, and let us know which training they would like to book.

    6. How do I keep track of the number of hours I have left?

      Each time you book training the CPD team will email you to let you know how many hours you have left. You can also email us at CPD@lawscot.org.uk to check.
