Walk for Access to Justice!

Time to sign up for this year's Edinburgh and Glasgow Legal Walks
14th August 2017
All lawyers are being urged to register if they can for the Edinburgh Legal Walk and Glasgow Legal Walk, both on Monday 9 October, supported by the Society and SYLA. The legal community of Scotland will come together and raise funds to support access to advice for all, through the Access to Justice Foundation.
Established in 2008 to support the provision of free legal advice across the UK, the Foundation’s annual Legal Walks are an important part of its fundraising activities. The organisations it supports make a huge difference in the lives of many people, for example by enabling working families to gain free access to specialist legal advice.
Registration on the day for both events opens at 5pm and the 10km walks set off at 5.30pm. They round off with the Foundation’s lead walkers saying a few words, and everyone can rest their feet and have a drink after completing the route.
The Foundation told the Journal: “We would like to get as many people involved as possible, so gather your co-workers, friends, family and pets to join us for an evening of walking and fun while raising vital funds for legal advice agencies!”
