Collected news of new appointments and practice changes

BALFOUR+MANSON, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, has appointed Anne McTaggart as a partner in the Family Law team in its Aberdeen office. An accredited family law specialist and solicitor mediator, she joins from the specialist family practice of McINTOSH McTAGGART, which she founded in 2003 and which continued until April 2018.

BBM SOLICITORS, Edinburgh and Wick, are delighted to announce the promotions 
of Kate Sharp (Edinburgh) and Florence Fisher (Wick) to associate.

BLM, Glasgow, Edinburgh and elsewhere, has promoted Keith Matthews from its Claims Solutions team to partner, and Rachel Eardley and Steven McDonagh in Claims Solutions, and Fiona McEwan in its Scotland business stream, to associate, all in the firm’s Glasgow office, along with promotions outside Scotland.

BRODIES LLP, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, has announced a total of 27 promotions. Angela McCulloch, David Lightbody, Elaine Petterson, Jane McMonagle and Louise Kelso become partners in their respective areas of Personal & Family; Corporate; Real Estate; Energy & Infrastructure and Insurance & Risk. They bring the number of partners at Brodies 
to 97. Eight new managing associates are: in Personal & Family, Hayley Robertson, Glasgow and Leigh Gould, Aberdeen; in Commercial Property, Claire Reid and Leonie Hall, both Edinburgh; and in Litigation, Niall McLean and Donald Muir, both Glasgow, and Louise Duffy and Kate Donachie, both Edinburgh.

W & A S BRUCE, Dunfermline and elsewhere, intimate that with effect from 30 April 2018 James Gourdie Smith, a partner based in the Kirkcaldy office, has retired from the practice. The remaining partners wish Jim a long and healthy retirement. Janine Bates, an associate in the Broxburn office, has been appointed as a partner of the firm with effect from 1 June 2018.

CARRUTHERS CURDIE STURROCK & CO, Kilmarnock, announces that Lauren Victoria McCall and David Alan Fleming, both previously associates, have been assumed as partners of the firm effective from 1 May 2018.

KILPATRICK & WALKER, AYR announce that Nicholas Kilpatrick WS has retired from the practice. Ralph Leigh Riddiough has joined as a partner with effect from 1 June 2018.

MACROBERTS LLP, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee, announces the promotion to partner of 
David McGuire in the Real Estate group and Robin Fallas in the Projects group, with effect from 1 May 2018.
