Collected news of new appointments and practice changes

ABERDEIN CONSIDINE, Aberdeen and elsewhere, has promoted David Orr from associate to partner in the firm’s Commercial Property team, based out of the firm’s Glasgow office; and has appointed Carly Stewart, a solicitor advocate, as an associate in the Dispute Resolution team. Carly joins the firm from CLYDE & CO.

ANDERSON STRATHERN, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Haddington, has appointed Adrian Smith, previously head of Corporate Relations at ADDLESHAW GODDARD, to the newly created role of commercial director.

BALFOUR+MANSON, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, has announced the promotion to partner of commercial law solicitor Stephanie Zak and employment law specialist Sarah Shiels in the Edinburgh office, and Lynne Mulcahy (pictured) in the firm’s Family Law division in Aberdeen. In addition, Catriona Torrance (private client) and Andrew Wallace (employment law) have been promoted to associate.

BURNESS PAULL LLP, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen has hired Nicky Pascoe as a director in its Property team. She joins from SHEPHERD & WEDDERBURN where she was an associate.

DIGBY BROWN, Edinburgh and elsewhere, has promoted Rona Hayworth, in the Edinburgh office, and Rachel Walker, in the Glasgow office, to associate. 

GIBSON KERR, Edinburgh, is pleased to announce the appointment of Caroline MacBeath and Sue Anne MacAulay as solicitors in its Family Law department, and Katie Marshall as a solicitor in its Personal Law department. Caroline was previously with LEGAL SERVICES AGENCY, Sue Anne joins from DRUMMOND MILLER, and Katie joins from SOMERVILLE & RUSSELL.

LINDSAYS, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee, announce that John Lee and Peter Murrin ceased to be partners of the firm with effect from 11 and 25 January 2019 respectively.

MACKINNONS, Aberdeen, Cults and Aboyne, are pleased to announce the appointment of Neil Torrance as a partner and Sarah Newnham as an associate to the firm, with effect from 1 January 2019.
