Improving the effectiveness of the Money Laundering Regulations - June 2024

HM Treasury published a consultation on improving the effectiveness of the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017 to consider changes to improve the regulations, while minimising burdens on legitimate customers.

We have responded to the HM Revenue and Customs consultation: Raising standards in the tax advice market: strengthening the regulatory framework and improving registration. The consultation has been considered by our Tax Committee and the Regulatory Committee.

Economic Crime Levy - October 2020

HM Treasury launched a consultation on 21 July 2020 to seek views on the introduction of an economic crime levy. The levy will fund new government action to tackle money laundering, and help deliver the reforms committed to in the 2019 Economic Crime Plan.
