Collected news of new appointments and practice changes

BRODIES LLP, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dingwall, has appointed hotel industry specialist Robert Asher as a partner.

COCHRAN DICKIE & MACKENZIE LTD, Paisley intimate that George J Black and Callum D Gerrard have recently retired as directors of the firm. They are also pleased to advise that Hazel A M Hamilton, previously a solicitor with the firm, has been appointed as a consultant, and Karen W Girvan, formerly of PRG PARTNERSHIP, has joined the firm as a solicitor.

GILSON GRAY, Edinburgh, Glasgow and North Berwick, has launched a new, full service office at 11 South Tay Street, Dundee DD1 1NY (t: 01382 549321; f: 01382 549 322).

JUST EMPLOYMENT LAW, Glasgow, Aberdeen and London, is delighted to welcome Fiona Gorry to its Glasgow team as a senior solicitor. She joins from DENTONS.

LINDSAYS, Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow, is pleased to announce the promotion of Darren Leahy and Lauren Pasi to partner with effect from 1 April 2020. Darren is a member of the firm’s Commercial Property department and is based in the firm’s Dundee office at Seabraes House, Greenmarket. Lauren is part of the firm’s Personal Injury department and works from the firm’s Glasgow office at 100 Queen Street. Lindsays also announces that Harriet Garret, previously with BURNESS PAULL, has joined the firm as a solicitor in its Private Client team in Dundee.

MACKIE & DEWAR, Aberdeen, intimate the retiral from the partnership of John MacRae. Mr MacRae will continue to be associated with the practice as a consultant.

MACLEOD & MACCALLUM, Inverness and Invergordon, are delighted to announce the appointment of Evelyn Crate as an associate, and Suzy El Deeb as sales negotiator/office manager, at their new office situated on Somerled Square, Portree, Isle of Skye, which will offer the firm’s full range of legal and property services.

C & D MACTAGGART, Campbeltown, intimates that with effect from 1 January 2020, Stephen MacSporran, previously an associate of the firm, was assumed as partner.

MOIR & SWEENEY LITIGATION, Glasgow, has appointed Lyndsey Barber as a solicitor. She joins from BERLOW RAHMAN.

MUIR MYLES LAVERTY, Dundee, announces that it has changed its name to MML LEGAL. Contact details remain the same.

MUNRO & NOBLE, Inverness, Dingwall and Aviemore, announce the retirement of executry partner David Hewitson after almost 40 years at the firm.

MURRAY BEITH MURRAY, Edinburgh, has announced the promotion of Fraser Scott, in its Asset Protection group, from senior solicitor to associate; of Anna MacLeod, in its Rural Property team, to senior solicitor; and of Sally Pugh, in the Property group, also to senior solicitor. The promotions follow the recent appointment of Andrew Linehan and Bill Meldrum as partners within the Property group.

Lynette Purves has been appointed as the first UK legal counsel of renewable energy company ERG, based in its Edinburgh office, following a secondment to ERG from BURGES SALMON.

THORNTONS LAW LLP, Dundee and elsewhere, has appointed Catriona Miller as a partner in its Edinburgh Private Client team based at Citypoint, Haymarket. She joins from ANDERSON STRATHERN where she was a partner.

TLT LLP, Glasgow, Edinburgh and elsewhere, has appointed EU, regulatory and trade expert Ayla Skene as an of counsel in its International Trade team. She joins from PINSENT MASONS, where she was an associate.
