Collected news of new appointments and practice changes

ABERDEIN CONSIDINE, Aberdeen and elsewhere has appointed Leonie Burke, an accredited family law specialist and family law mediator, as a partner, based in Edinburgh. She joins from BRODIES. Aberdein Considine has also appointed senior banker Colin Soulsby, who joins from ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND, to a relationship management role in its Lender Services Practice Group.

ADDLESHAW GODDARD, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and UK-wide, has appointed Gaenor Cassell as a partner in its Banking practice in Edinburgh. She joins from BURNESS PAULL.

W & AS BRUCE, solicitors, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Dundee, Broxburn and Burntisland announce that with effect from 31 October 2019 Michele Louise Renton has resigned as a partner of the firm.

BTO SOLICITORS, Glasgow and Edinburgh, has appointed Fraser Hopkins as a partner in its Construction team. He joins from PINSENT MASONS where he was a senior associate.

THE CHAMBER PRACTICE, Dundee and elsewhere has appointed Sandra Teall as director and head of Property. Joining from ABERDEIN CONSIDINE, Perth, Sandra will be based in the Dundee office with responsibility for expansion of the firm’s Brechin office.

DAC BEACHCROFT, Glasgow, Edinburgh and internationally, has announced that a five partner-led team has joined the Claims Solutions business in its Glasgow office from BLM SCOTLAND. The new partners are Louise Gallagher, Gillian Rushbury, Rachel Rough, Iain Buchanan and Jamie Varney.

DALLAS McMILLAN, solicitors, Glasgow are delighted to announce that on 1 December 2019 David Hutchison was assumed as a partner of the firm, and Rachel Hendry promoted to associate in the Commercial Litigation department.

DUNCAN & McCONNELL SOLICITORS LTD, Dundee, has promoted its associate Kym Samson to director.

ENNOVA LAW, Edinburgh has opened a Dundee office at Flour Mill, Exchange Court, Dundee DD1 3EJ (t: 01383 938118; f: 0131 667 7938). The office is headed by partner Fraser Morrison, who joined the firm six months ago from BLACKADDERS.

GILSON GRAY, Glasgow, Edinburgh and North Berwick has acquired specialist licensing firm MILLAR CAMPBELL LEGAL LTD, Glasgow. Joanna Millar joins Gilson Gray as legal director, and Laura Campbell as solicitor. The firm’s team will be based in Gilson Gray’s Real Estate division in Glasgow. Gilson Gray has also hired specialist family lawyer Alasdair Loudon, who recently retired as head of Family Law at TURCAN CONNELL, as a consultant.

JUST EMPLOYMENT LAW, Glasgow, Aberdeen and London, is delighted to announce the promotion of Louise Walker, who initially joined the company as a trainee solicitor, to associate director.

LEXLEYTON, Glasgow, Edinburgh, London and Manchester, has appointed Musab Hemsi as partner and Simon Mayberry as senior associate in its Employment Law team. Both join from ELLIS WHITTAM.

LINDSAYS, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee intimates that, with effect from 31 December 2019, Allan Crocker will retire from the partnership. Lindsays wishes him a long and healthy retirement.

Eoghainn MacLean, advocate, Ampersand Advocates, has returned to the commercial bar after a year as a full-time advocate depute.

MACKINNONS, Aberdeen and Aboyne, announces the promotion of Angus Easton, Kirstin Ejsmont, Kim Harkness and Jane Merson to senior associate, and Fiona Copp to senior solicitor.

MORTON FRASER, Edinburgh and Glasgow, has promoted commercial property solicitor Amar Wali to partner in its Housebuilding & Commercial Real Estate team.

PACITTI JONES, Glasgow, Bishopbriggs and Lenzie, has promoted Lauren Mitchell to senior associate and Laura Frame to associate in Residential Conveyancing.

PATIENCE & BUCHAN, family lawyers, Aberdeen has appointed solicitor Rhoda Banfro to join the firm as an assistant.

SHOOSMITHS, Edinburgh and UK-wide, has appointed Thomas Morrison as a key hire within its Financial Services team. He joins from ADDLESHAW GODDARD where he was a managing associate.

Jennifer Mair, trading as STEWART WATT & CO, Edinburgh and West Calder has appointed Zara Mair as a partner in the Private Client team.

THOMPSONS, Glasgow and elsewhere has promoted Seonaid Brophy from the Trade Union Accident team to partner, and Lynn Fraser, lead solicitor dealing with the UK infected blood inquiry, and Joanne Goodwin, Jonathan Howat and David Adams, from the Private Accident, Medical Negligence and Road Traffic teams respectively, all to associate.

THORNTONS LAW LLP, Dundee and elsewhere has appointed Gemma Hardie as an associate in commercial property, based in Dundee and St Andrews. She joins from BURNESS PAULL.

WEIGHTMANS, Glasgow, Edinburgh and UK-wide, has appointed partner Ingrid McGhee and associate Steven Harte to its Employment, Pensions & Immigration department in Glasgow. Both join from LEXLEYTON (and previously DWF LLP).
